Leapfrog Recruitment have an exciting Registered Veterinary Nurse job opportunity with a fantastic independently owned veterinary surgery situated in Hexham, Northumberland.

We are looking for an RVN to join their team working:

• 3-4 days per week (30-40hrs per week)
• Thursdays as regular weekday off
• 1 in 6 Saturday shift 9am-1pm included within the weekend on call
• 1 night per week on call

On call information: the practice uses an out of hours veterinary triage company to answer the phones, any cases which do require veterinary attention are passed onto the Vet on call and nurses are called if assistance is required. On call is paid very competitively with an annual on call retainer, set fee for each call out and paid an additional hourly rate for out of hours duties and mileage paid to and from the surgery for out of hours calls.

The practice is an independently owned, community focused independent practice which prides  itself on providing excellent patient and client care. They run 20 minute consults as standard and see a caseload which enables the team to use and develop their skills over a varied caseload.

With 3 surgeries in the North East, here you’d be joining a team of 7 Vets, 7 RVN’s, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse, 2 Animal Care Assistants and 8 Receptionists working across the 3 sites.

About you;

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified, RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse who is passionate about providing excellent care to your patients and enjoys doing a hands on nursing role with a variety of nursing duties. You will work well within a team, be motivated and enjoy your role.

• £750 Clinical Coach payment annually
• Holiday allowance is 4 weeks (20 days) plus bank holidays (pro rata). One extra day is given for each year of service up to a maximum of 5 days for 5 years of service.
• CPD allowance of £300 per annum. CPD is encouraged and supported. CPD in excess of £300 per annum may be subject to signing a training contract.
• RCVS fees paid.
• Uniform provided.

Minimum requirements: 

• RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, or eligible to register in 2024
• Eligible to work in the UK
