We, Leapfrog Recruitment have a Head Veterinary Nurse job opening at a fantastic small animal veterinary practice situated in Inverness. The role of HVN is managing a team of 12 Veterinary Nurses (including 2 Student Nurses), Veterinary Care Assistant and dispensary assistant who are working across 1 main site and 2 local branch practices.

Your duties would include overseeing:

  • rota management, holiday scheduling, and performance appraisals for nursing staff
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and training sessions to promote collaboration and professional development.
  • Manage inventory and stock control processes, liaising with suppliers as necessary to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Implement and monitor improvements in working practices to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.

Working hours:

  • Full or part time
  • Weekends on a rota basis
  • No OOHs

Salary range: Up to £33,000 per annum

Minimum requirements: 

  • RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurse, or eligible to register in 2024
  • Eligible to work in the UK
